Nose Surgery

Nose surgery is one of the most commonly performed procedures in plastic surgery, aimed at improving both the appearance and function of the nose.

It may involve reducing or enlarging the nose, correcting the shape of the tip, narrowing the nostrils, or changing the angle between the nose and the upper lip. This procedure often helps with congenital defects, injuries, as well as breathing problems.

Each nose operation is individually tailored to the patient’s needs, allowing for the most natural and harmonious results. Ideal candidates for such a procedure are individuals who wish to improve their nose’s appearance while maintaining realistic expectations. Good health and emotional stability are crucial for a successful surgery and recovery process. It is also worth noting that nose surgery can be combined with other procedures to achieve a comprehensive improvement in facial aesthetics.

Post-Procedure Recommendations

First 48 hours after the procedure

  • Keep your head on at least 2 pillows to minimize swelling.
  • Use cooling dressings around the eyes to reduce swelling and bruising.
  • Avoid wearing contact lenses; they can be worn after 2-3 days post-surgery.

Until the Dressing is Removed
Avoid:

  • soaking the thermoplastic splint on your nose and applying pressure to it.
  • bathing in a bathtub.
  • washing your hair.
  • Wash your face without touching the dressing.
  • The dressing on the bridge of the nose must remain for about 7 days and can only be removed in the clinic.

After the dressing is removed

  • After the dressing is removed, the nose, eyes, and upper lip may be swollen or bruised. This usually subsides after 2-3 weeks, although some patients may experience swelling for up to 6 months.
  • The nose will be swollen and remain so for several weeks. A slight swelling may persist for up to one year. Swelling in the nasal cavity may cause breathing difficulties, which will improve over time.
  • The bridge of the nose can be gently washed with soap. Care should be taken when applying gentle makeup and creams or other skincare products.

Up to 2 Weeks After the Procedure

  • Foods that require long chewing and intense lip movements while eating, such as apples or corn on the cob.
  • Long phone conversations.
  • Smiling and facial movements.

Up to 4 weeks after the procedure
Avoid:

  • Blowing your nose too forcefully.
  • Sneezing, and if unavoidable, do it with your mouth open.
  • Lowering your head below heart level.
  • Foods that cause constipation.
  • Clothing that is put on over the head.
  • taking medications on an empty stomach, as this may cause vomiting. All these factors can increase blood pressure and lead to bleeding.
  • There is a strict ban on alcohol consumption.

It is recommended to:

  • perform nasal vestibule cleaning as instructed by the nurse.
  • Brush your teeth only with a soft toothbrush.
  • Wear front or back-buttoned clothing.
  • Use only medications prescribed by your doctor.

Up to 6 Weeks After the Procedure

  • Do not wear glasses or sunglasses.

Up to 2 Months After the Procedure
There is a complete ban on:

  • physical labor and physical exertion.
  • Swimming.

You should:

  • completely avoid sun exposure and tanning beds. Heat may cause swelling of the nose.
  • use a high SPF sunscreen if staying in the sun for an extended period.

Patient Review

I had my nose surgery with Mr. Mateusz on July 31, and I am already very satisfied with the result. He transformed my flat, wide nose into a really cute one. Dr. Zachara is a great professional in what he does. I am very impressed with his skills. I highly recommend him!

The day I met Dr. Mateusz Zachara changed my life; I can’t describe in words how happy I am. Thanks to the complete nose correction surgery, my face has become subtle, delicate, and beautiful, and I have overcome my complex. Mr. Mateusz Zachara is the best surgeon in Poland, without any competition—a true artist, a master.

In November 2023, I underwent a nose plastic surgery. Dr. Zachara had told me during the pre-operative consultation that I have very thick skin on my nose, which is quite massive, and it would be challenging to achieve the “Barbie nose” effect. Currently, it’s mid-May, six months have passed since the surgery, and my nose looks really beautiful. Compared to my pre-surgery nose, which had a hump, was wide and large, it has changed into a lovely, slim, delicate, elegant, and lifted nose. It suits my face perfectly, and that’s the most important thing! So far everything has gone smoothly! I am still waiting for the final result, as I know from experience that every day and month counts, and my nose looks different and more beautiful every day!
Regarding the clinic and medical staff – they exude empathy, kindness, and professionalism! In summary, I highly recommend it.
